Description
This event aims to raise awareness of the cultural right to sports at all levels of participation, from the elite athlete level to the community level, where the majority of participation in sports lies. Representatives from civil society, experts in the field of Sports, UN entities, and member states will discuss successful practices that counter discrimination and violence against LGBTI persons, especially trans, gender-diverse, and intersex persons in sports, and recommend steps that States, the United Nations, and other stakeholders can take to realize the human right to participate in cultural life for all.
