Summary
Poverty eradication, as the very first goal of the UN Agenda 2030 with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, has unfortunately again become increasingly relevant due to the multiple crises of our time including the pandemic, the energy crisis and inflation, the war against Ukraine and the climate crisis. Adequate, safe, and affordable housing is crucial to reduce poverty, as emphasized in SDG 11.1, which aims to provide access to such housing for all by 2030.

However, innovative social policies are required to address housing challenges, achieve these goals and fulfil these rights.
