(Panel 2) High-level Meeting to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the World Programme of Action for Youth - General Assembly, 80th session

Guiding Questions:
- Question 1: What progress has been made in advancing the full, effective, and meaningful participation of youth at international and national levels? What are the biggest remaining gaps, especially to ensure no youth is left behind?
- Question 2: What good practices or national policies have successfully supported the full, effective, and meaningful participation of youth in policymaking and decision-making processes? How could they be potentially replicated?
- Question 3: What role do youth-led organizations, networks, and movements play in shaping national and international policies? How can they be better supported and strengthened?
- Question 4: How can intergenerational collaboration and leadership help accelerate progress in advancing the youth agenda globally?
- Question 5: How can we ensure full, effective, and meaningful youth participation at international and national levels, building on the World Programme of Action for Youth, the Pact for the Future, and other intergovernmental commitments?

The high-level meeting will serve as a global platform to address the challenges young people face in realizing their full potential and human rights while strengthening the political commitment to policies and programmes involving youth and promoting meaningful youth participation at both national and international levels.
Recognizing that young people are essential drivers of innovation, economic growth, peace and social progress, the meeting will emphasize how investing in youth creates a multiplier effect to the benefit of the entire society. By empowering young people to participate meaningfully in decision-making processes, nations can harness their fresh perspectives and transformative energy to build more resilient, inclusive, and forward-thinking communities that serve all generations.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity for sharing perspectives, experiences, and good practices to advance the implementation of the World Programme of Action for Youth as well as for identifying challenges and proposing actionable solutions to accelerate progress in advancing the youth agenda globally through intergenerational collaboration.
This event will bring together UN Member States, young people, civil society, UN entities, and other stakeholders to:
- Take stock of what has been achieved over the last 30 years
- Share good practices and innovations for advancing the implementation of WPAY
- Identify current challenges and actionable solutions
- Chart the way forward through intergenerational collaboration.
