USG Lacroix visits DRC

Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, arrived in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 27 February 2025.  He met with the government officials with a MONUSCO delegation.

Discussions focused on the security situation in eastern DRC, as well as ongoing diplomatic and political efforts aimed at achieving an immediate cessation of hostilities in North and South Kivu. USG Lacroix advocated for the implementation of Resolution 2773 (2025), particularly regarding respect for the territorial integrity of the DRC and an end to the M23 offensive.
