Summary
Despite existing international laws and legal frameworks of protection, women and girls in conflict zones in the Arab region often face all forms of danger because of the weakness or lack of enforcement of these laws. Indeed, conflict results in higher levels of violence against women and girls, including arbitrary killings, torture, sexual violence, forced marriage and forced migration. Besides, women and girls are primarily and increasingly targeted as a tactic to weaken the "enemy".
