Regional capacity for the SDGs: Partnership for the Goals (HLPF 2023 Side Event)

The UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have given a new impetus to global efforts for achieving sustainable development. The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and its five Member States – Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, are committed to this global framework agreement and to playing an active role in maximizing progress towards the SDGs both on a national and regional levels.
This year, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), as the regulatory body of the EAEU, will present a side event "Regional capacity for the SDGs: partnership for the Goals" dedicated to the regional dimension of the SDGs, which becomes even more important given the fact that the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by the countries participating in integration associations is more effective in those areas of the economy that are subject to supranational regulation measures.
