Security Council Arria-Formula Meeting on Protection…

Norway and Niger are organizing a United Nations Security Council Arria-Formula meeting on the protection of education in conflict. This meeting will focus on the protection of education, as stipulated in the recently adopted UNSCR 2601 (2021).

The resolution reaffirms the right to education and its fundamental contribution to the achievement of peace and security, and urges Member States to develop effective measures to prevent and address attacks against schools and educational facilities, and facilitate the continuation of education in conflict, as a key priority.
