Description

The purpose of this event is to present the policy recommendations of the T20 Brasil Communiqué to the G20 leaders that are relevant to the outcome of the Summit of the Future. The event sessions will address the following main thematic areas:

  • SDGs implementation with a special focus on decreasing poverty and inequalities as well as tackling climate change with strong financial means;
  • Reforming global governance and multilateralism with a particular focus on reforming the financial architecture to address the debt problems and the need for a larger-scale investment.

The T20 policy recommendations are based on extensive consultations within its six thematic Task Forces that involved each at least 18 think tank representatives and built on more than 350 policy briefs sent by experts from all 19 member states and two regional blocs (European Union and African Union) of the G20 and beyond. The T20 recommendations have also received comments and suggestions from a high-level group from the international and national advisory councils, including from thinks tanks from the European Union, which are also members of FEPS' network.

Side Event organized by: IPEA, T20, FEPS, UNRISD, Friedrich Ebert Foundation New York Office, Karl Renner Institute (Austria), Olof Palme International Center (Sweden), Fundación Pablo Iglesias (Spain), Fondation Jean Jaures (France) and TASC – Think Tan for Action on Social Change (Ireland)
