The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the German Federal Foreign Office will host one of six multiple launches in Berlin to present the Global Humanitarian Overview 2022.

The GHO launch in Berlin will focus on the impact of Climate Change on Humanitarian Needs. Every year sets a sad new record for humanitarian needs – this year is no exception.  Climate change is the main threat multiplier for humanitarian needs alongside with conflict and COVID-19's socio-economic impact and has the potential to drive needs further.  The high-level panel will describe the impact of climate change on the local work of humanitarians and how the international community can drive local adaption, preparedness and increase resiliency among communities at risk, including through humanitarian financing channels.
