A rapidly increasing number of Sudanese refugees are crossing into eastern Chad, with more than 18,500 people, mostly exhausted and traumatized women and children, arriving in the past two weeks alone. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) says more malnourished people are expected while others are dying en route.
