PBC Ambassadorial-level meeting on Burundi

In 2006, upon request of the Government of Burundi and the UN Security Council, Burundi became one of the first countries to be included on the agenda of the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC). In 2007, under the Chairmanship of Norway, the Configuration brought together UN and regional actors, international financial institutions, parliamentarians, and civil society to create the strategic framework for peace consolidation in Burundi.
Purpose of the meeting To review the engagement of the PBC Burundi Configuration and transition to other forms of engagement between the PBC and BurundiTo discuss the way forward and explore areas of cooperation between Burundi and the international communityTo highlight areas for future peacebuilding activities, such as women's empowerment
