Agenda Item 1 - Opening of the Conference 

Agenda Items 2-7 - Procedural issues 

1. The following procedural issues will be addressed: 

  • Agenda item 2 - Election of the President 
  • Agenda item 3 - Adoption of the agenda 
  • Agenda item 4 - Confirmation of the rules of procedure 
  • Agenda item 5 - Appointment of the Secretary-General of the Conference 
  • Agenda item 6 - Organization of work including that of any subsidiary bodies of the Conference 
  • Agenda item 7 - Election of other officers of the Conference 
Agenda Item 8 - General exchange of views 

2. High Contracting Parties are encouraged to provide updates on their efforts to implement Protocol V and on encountered challenges in doing so. The general exchange of views is also an opportunity for delegations to address the issues of cooperation and assistance. 

Agenda Item 9 - Review of the status and operation of the Protocol 

3. Under this agenda item the issue of universalization will be addressed, and delegations may wish to brief the Annual Conference on their efforts to promote the universalization of Protocol V at the regional, sub-regional and national levels. Delegations are also invited to address any other matters pertaining to the status and operation of the Protocol. 

Agenda Item 10 - Consideration of matters pertaining to national implementation of the Protocol, including national reporting or updating on an annual basis 

4. Delegations will be invited to consider matters pertaining to the national implementation of the Protocol, including national reporting or updating on an annual basis. Delegations will also be invited to consider the recommendations on next year's work under Protocol V, put forward by the President.
