The humanitarian situation in Sudan remains dire, and the international community must act urgently to address the needs of the people affected by the conflict.
Meeting objectives
- Raise attention to the alarming situation in Sudan, particularly on the large number and scale of people in need, offer practical solutions through multiple levels of engagement and support the efforts aimed at meeting the needs of refugees and asylum seekers while ensuring the resilience of host communities and the complementarity of efforts with development actors.
- Highlight the need to address the drivers of the crisis, enhance the coordination efforts among partners, demonstrate the international community's unwavering commitment to full, safe and unhindered humanitarian access in accordance with international humanitarian law and humanitarian principles, and scale up efforts in all sectors, including political, peacebuilding and development.
- Galvanise support for the humanitarian and refugee response plans and advocate for the timely disbursement of flexible and frontloaded funding to facilitate a continued humanitarian response.
