Agenda Item 6 continued : Measures on international cooperation and assistance under Article X

A mechanism open to all States Parties to facilitate and support the full implementation of international cooperation and assistance under Article X

States Parties discuss the international cooperation and assistance mechanism. The Chairperson proposes that the discussion should focus, in particular, on the following issues:

• composition of the ICA Steering Group;
• the role of the Meeting of States Parties and the institutional nature of the ICA Advisory Group;
• the funding model for the ICA Fund (voluntary, assessed or hybrid);
• the cost sharing arrangement for ICA projects;
• the possible application of consequences to the trust fund for not paying assessed contributions.

In line with the indicative schedule of activities adopted at the first session of the Working Group in March 2023, the following topics will be addressed:
• 11 and 12 August 2025: international cooperation and assistance
• 13 and 14 August 2025: scientific and technological developments, confidence-building and transparency
• 15 and 18 August 2025: confidence-building and transparency, compliance and verification
• 19 and 20 August 2025: compliance and verification, national implementation
• 21 and 22 August 2025: national implementation, procedural report
