Summary
Continuing a biennial tradition, the UN General Assembly urged all countries to observe the Olympic Truce during the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Italy. Adopting by consensus a resolution which had 165 cosponsors, the Assembly also called for efforts to use sport as a tool to promote peace, dialogue, tolerance and reconciliation in areas of conflict.
