Description
Countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia are facing simultaneous and interconnected challenges threatening development achievements and future social, economic and environmental progress: conflicts, environmental degradation, energy security, and economic diversification. The impact of these challenges is mostly felt at the local level and by local communities. That is why, it is starting from the local level that action to advance sustainable development needs to be built from. More and more national governments in the region are strengthening their commitment toward the localization of the SDGs, also inspired by the innovations driven by their local governments and cities authorities.
