Summary
By early 2024 over 120 million people had been forced to flee war, conflict, persecution, or human rights violations. Children are disproportionately impacted by forced displacement as approximately 40% of all people forcibly displaced are children – under the age of 18. Refugee youth are demanding more meaningful opportunities to participate in shaping their own futures, and recognition of their leadership as change-agents, peace builders, and drivers of sustainable development.
