Martin Griffiths, the Emergency Relief Coordinator today visited Bucha and Irpin, outside of Kyiv. He said that the world is already deeply shocked by the images coming out of the area and echoed the Secretary-General's call for an immediate, independent investigation to guarantee effective accountability.

Today marks the 28th anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, one of the darkest chapters in human history. In his message, the Secretary-General said that today we stand in awe of the resilience of the survivors, and we reflect on our failures as an international community.
