2nd Meeting, 5th session of the Permanent Forum…

The fifth session of the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent will be held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, from 14 to 17 April 2026, under the theme: Expanding the human rights of people of African descent under the Second International Decade for People of African Descent.

This year's discussions will examine reparatory justice, through the return of cultural artefacts; the human rights situation of youth of African descent; and the 25th anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action as a moment to reflect on turning existing human rights commitments into concrete action.
