Living Independently. The Network Model for Persons with Autism in Adulthood (COSP16 Side Event)
The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) affirms non discrimination and the recognition of the equal right of persons with disabilities to live independently in the community. For the rights to live independently, with choices equal to others, and to be included in the community to be realised, effective and appropriate measures must be taken allowing the full inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities.
Personal autonomy and self determination are fundamental for independent living.
