The exhibition draws upon The Wiener Holocaust Library's collections of material on the genocide to uncover the story of this little-known aspect of Nazi persecution. Through the stories of the victims and survivors of the Nazi campaign against the Roma, the exhibition traces the history of persecution and mass murder at the hands of the Nazis, and the struggle after the war for recognition of the atrocities committed against the Roma. Speakers at the opening included Mr. Maher Nasser, Director of the Outreach Division, United Nations Department of Global Communications, H. E. Mr. Jonathan Allen, Charge d'Affaires, Permanent Mission of the United Kingdom to the United Nations, Dr. Barbara Warnock, Senior Curator and Head of Education, The Wiener Holocaust Library and Ms. Rita Prigmore, Sinti survivor.
