Member States to implement their obligations under resolution 1373 (2001), in
which the Security Council requires all Member States to ensure that terrorist
acts are established as serious criminal offences in domestic laws. - Questions and answers segment

Panelists will brief the Committee on the difficulties Member States experience in strengthening international cooperation on terrorist offences that arise from differing approaches to the codification of the offences. - Questions and answers segment

The objective of the open briefing is for members of the Committee to review progress
made by Member States in the criminalization of terrorist offences as required in resolution 1373 (2001) and subsequent resolutions of the Security Council on counter-terrorism.
The open briefing will also be an opportunity to examine the relationship between well codified criminal offences and international cooperation to highlight why one is an important
precondition for the other.
