Committee on Energy, Fourth Session (Day 3 - Afternoon…

The Committee will discuss on the following issues:

a. Transforming energy systems in Asia and the Pacific for a just and sustainable future (Agenda item 2)

b. Follow-up on the Ministerial Declaration on Building a Secure, Sustainable and Interconnected Energy Future for Asia and the Pacific (Agenda item 3)

• Review of progress made towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 in Asia and the Pacific.
• Review of progress made in implementing the Regional Road Map on Power System Connectivity: Promoting Cross-border Electricity Connectivity for Sustainable Development.
• Maintaining reliable, responsible and sustainable supply chains of minerals, materials and technologies critical for energy transitions, and the possible application of the United Nations Resource Management System Principles and Requirements.
• Involving and engaging young people and youth-led and youth-focused organizations in energy transition policymaking.
• Report on the work of the Expert Working Group on Energy Connectivity and the Expert Working Group on Universal Access to Modern Energy Services, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Cleaner Use of Fossil Fuels.
