SDG Lounge - We The Women: Film Screening

The film features both inspiring, accomplished women and everyday individuals, crafting an emotional and cinematic portrait of the collective economic, political, and socio-cultural challenges we face. The documentary elevates women's voices worldwide, urging audiences to unite and take action.

Its premiere during the high-level week of the UN General Assembly presents a unique moment to amplify women's voices, emphasizing their convictions on the world's most pressing priorities and hopes for the future. This release also coincides with global leaders convening to rethink multilateralism, address critical issues, and guide the world onto a better path.

The We the Women survey collected perspectives from over 25,000 women across 185 countries, revealing women's strong commitment to championing rights and increasing representation in government.

We the Women is a campaign of Women Rise for All, an initiative by the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General recognizing the transformative leadership of women leaders in keeping the promise of the SDGs.

This September, the United Nations will host the Summit of the Future, a key moment to strengthen global cooperation and multilateralism for the challenges ahead. Running alongside this milestone moment during the High-Level Week of the 79th UN General Assembly, the SDG Lounge at UN Headquarters will be a vibrant space for #GrowingSolutions to accelerate action toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Convened by the United Nations Deputy Secretary General and hosted by the UN Office for Partnerships, from 20 – 26 September, the SDG Lounge will feature unscripted dialogues, deep dives into vital issues and host interactive experiences—all designed to keep the promise of the SDGs today, tomorrow and for future generations to come.
