In August 2025, UN Member States established two new mechanisms for global cooperation on artificial intelligence: the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, the first UN platform where all countries discuss AI governance together, and the Independent International Scientific Panel on AI, which provides evidence-based assessments independent of any government or company.
