Description

The full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine on February 24, 2022, had a significant impact on the lives of millions of people in Ukraine. Destroyed residential buildings, civilian and critical infrastructure objects, killing and rapeing civilian population, and the abduction of children - all of this is a result of Russia's aggressive actions in Ukraine.

Moreover, as a result of the Russian war against Ukraine, as well as mine and explosive injuries, a large number of Ukrainian citizens have suffered significant disabilities. The number of individuals with established disability status has sharply increased. As of the beginning of 2024, there are approximately 3 million persons with disabilities in Ukraine, whereas just 2 years ago, this figure was around 2.7 million.

The consequences of Russia's aggressive actions not only lead to mass disability among Ukrainians but also complicate the processes of rehabilitation and socialization for those individuals who had disability status established earlier.
