3) Telling a New Story
Damon Gameau is a father of two daughters. Overwhelmed with the possibility of what their future might look like at its current trajectory, he spent 4 years travelling the world looking for the best solutions to our ecological crisis. He turned that journey into a film and book called 2040. It is a visual letter to his now 5 year old daughter showing her what the world would look like in 2040 if we put into practice today, the best solutions that already exist. From decentralised energy systems to regenerative agriculture and giant seaweed forests, the film shows us that we actually have everything we need to solve this dilemma. Damon will share this journey in his presentation plus discuss the importance of imagination and telling new stories about the better world we want to inhabit.
Speaker: Damon Gameau, Actor and Director.

The SDG Action Zone, held during the High-level week of the UN General Assembly, is a space to break out and engage partners for transformative SDG action in new and innovative ways.
