During the session, the Commission is expected to finalize the texts prepared by its Working Groups regarding arbitral awards in electronic form and the conduct of investor-State dispute settlement proceedings. The Commission is also expected to finalize the Statute of the Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution, which it had adopted in principle in 2024, and submit it to the General Assembly. The second week of the Commission would be devoted to, among others, work programme and methods of work of the Commission including future work, progress report of working groups, coordination and cooperation, as well as non-legislative activities. It will also mark the beginning of the celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of UNCITRAL.

The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) plays a key role in developing that framework in pursuit of its mandate to further the progressive harmonization and modernization of the law of international trade. UNCITRAL does this by preparing and promoting the use and adoption of legislative and non-legislative instruments in a number of key areas of commercial law.
