2023 ECOSOC Youth Forum - Opening session

The 2023 Annual Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum, will take place over three days on 25-27 April 2023, guided by the theme of the 2023 HLPF on "Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels". Youth will be given the opportunity to present their assessment, vision and recommendations for member states' consideration ahead of the SDG Summit in September 2023.

The Ambassadorial-level meeting will provide an opportunity for Member States to receive an update on the preparations for the general elections in Liberia, and to discuss priority areas and related actions in the areas of women's and youth political participation and preventing electoral violence. The meeting will also provide an opportunity to receive an update on the Chair's mission in Washington D.C.

Civil Society Town Hall on the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy

This side event will explore the key role of indigenous youth in co-creating positive change in building urban resilience to the climate crisis. The discussion will draw on impactful practices by cities, national governments, civil society and UN-Habitat and the UN system, empowering children and young indigenous persons to take an active role in urban decision-making around climate resilience, thus shaping the future of their cities and communities.
