Essential services are a lifeline, access to them is a human right. They are key to socio-economic inclusion and ensuring that the green and digital transitions are fair. Yet, inequalities in access and affordability prevent groups on the margin or outside the social protection systems to benefit from opportunities offered by the transition to net-zero. The session will take stock of existing barriers and explore policy and funding solutions to break the cycle of isolation through skills development.
