This open briefing provides an opportunity to re-evaluate the evolution of the terrorist threat to the region and to update Committee members regarding the measures taken by the Member States of Central Asia to counter terrorism and violent extremism conducive to terrorism, considering the current threat level.

This meeting of the Peacebuilding Commission has been developed together with the Women Leaders' Caucus of Central Asia (CAWLC) and its participating States of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to discuss and share experiences on women leadership in the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda with a special focus on impact of climate change on women in Central Asia.
