This panel discussion (with Bosnian-English interpretation) aims to delve into the multifaceted dimensions and importance of memorializing genocide, with a particular focus on the Srebrenica genocide, not least in light of the proposed draft resolution on designating 11 July as International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica.

The 46th Session of the Committee on Information (COI) will take place from 29 April to 10 May 2024 at UN Headquarters in New York. The Committee on Information is a subsidiary body of the General Assembly, established by the General Assembly to deal with questions relating to public information.

In early April 2024, the Governments of Benin, Denmark, and the Netherlands, in cooperation with UNFPA, convened the ICPD30 Global Youth Dialogue in Cotonou, Benin, under the theme: A New Generation's Vision for the Future. The Global Youth Dialogue served as a platform for solution-oriented discussions led by young people, focusing on the ongoing implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action and generating new ideas for the future.

Thirty years have passed since the landmark International Conference on Population and Development, where world leaders agreed to take concrete action to put human rights – including sexual and reproductive health and rights – at the heart of sustainable development. This year, the anniversary takes centre stage at the fifty-seventh session of the Commission on Population and Development. 

Member States have the primary responsibility for countering terrorist acts, including in building resilience of communities against radicalization to terrorism. The Security Council recognizes that acts of terrorism are most effectively prevented and countered through a comprehensive approach that includes actors from all sectors of society.
