The ninth session of the Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development (EMRTD) will provide the Human Rights Council with thematic expertise on the right to development in searching for, identifying and sharing best practices with Member States and promotes the implementation of the right to development worldwide.

The side event seeks to create a space for civil society organizations (CSOs) to reflect on the ICPD agenda, evaluate the progress and gaps in the implementation of the Programme of Action, and demonstrate its continued relevance for the realization of sexual and reproductive rights, gender equality, human rights and development agendas.
