Care systems in Southeast Asia rely heavily on women's unpaid work. But demographic, educational, and economic shifts are increasing the demand for paid care. What does this mean for women in the region - and what challenges lie ahead? This event will explore the care economy's transformative power to accelerate women's economic empowerment, while strengthening Southeast Asia's resilience to external shocks.

The 62nd session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD62) will take place from 5 to 14 February 2023  at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The Commission is the advisory body responsible for the social development pillar of global development.

General Assembly: 85th Plenary Meeting, 77th Session

The 2023 Annual Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum, will take place over three days on 25-27 April 2023, guided by the theme of the 2023 HLPF on "Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels". Youth will be given the opportunity to present their assessment, vision and recommendations for member states' consideration ahead of the SDG Summit in September 2023. 

In many countries, women and girls have the primary responsibility of managing household water supplies and sanitation. Yet due to water scarcity, corruption and high prices for vital period products, many women are paying the high price for a lack of government action on water, sanitation and hygiene. Hear what policies and investments are needed to provide gender quality.
