Description
UNOCT's AROS Programme and CAR will launch the "Global Report on the Acquisition, Weaponization, and Deployment of Unmanned Aircraft Systems by Non-State Actors for Terrorism-Related Purposes". This report highlights overarching trends, emerging threats, and priority concerns held by UN Member States. The event will provide an executive summary and offer key conclusions of the Global Report before bringing together different stakeholders from Member States, academia, and the private sector to discuss key challenges, opportunities, experiences, and good practices for preventing and countering the terrorist use of UAS in the panel discussion "Priorities and the Way Forward". The United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week is a biennial gathering of Member States and international counter-terrorism partners. The Third Counter-Terrorism Week (CT Week) is scheduled to take place from 19 to 23 June 2023 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
